Appointments

Appointments

To enable the best choice of times suitable to you, please phone for appointments 4-5 days in advance. Our appointments are scheduled at 15 minute intervals. Please book a long appointment for complex medical issues, Insurance or pre-employment medicals as well as any forms that need to be completed by your Doctor.
Please advise reception if you are booking for a Pap screen, as this also requires an extended appointment.
If more than one family member is required to see the Doctor at the same time, separate appointments must be made.
We do try to maintain appointment times, although this is sometimes very difficult. We ask for your patience and understanding. You may find if helpful to phone the surgery to find out if Doctor is running late.

Please advise reception when making your appointment if you require an interpreter service.

Urgent Appointments

We do take urgent appointments on the day, but, because Doctors appointments are often fully booked, we ask that you phone at 8:30am on the day. Due to only a few urgent appointments being available per session, a priority system must be in place, therefore
we ask that offence not be taken if the receptionist or nurse asks the general nature of your problem.

Telephone Calls

As you would be aware interruptions and unnecessary delays to your consultation can be frustrating. Most queries are best dealt with by consultation with Doctor, but if urgent, your Doctor may discuss a telephone query with you. Please leave a brief description of your query, with your name and contact number with reception and reception staff will talk to Doctor on your behalf. If deemed necessary, Doctor will return your call.

Do you need an interpreter?

Please advise reception prior to your appointment if you do not speak English and require a translator. Alternatively you can
Phone: 1300 131 450 to organise this yourself.

Do you have a hearing or speech impairment?

Please advise reception prior to your appointment if you require assistance with communication. National Relay Service (NRS) will be contacted. Alternatively you can phone 1800 555 660 or 1800 555 630 (NRS)

Home visits

Home visits are available to patients at Nursing Homes and Private Residents (within 10kms) at Doctors discretion. This can be discussed with the Nurse or Doctor by phoning the surgery during hours.
This service is provided to Dr Pauley’s patients only.

Prescriptions

Providing the patient has seen the Doctor within the 3 months prior to the date of request, scripts for certain medications can be written without having a consultation, a fee of $15.00 will be charged. Please allow 2 days if possible for scripts to be written. Authority scripts cannot be written without seeing Doctor, due to government regulations. Please ensure you check script renewals in sufficient time to make an appointment if needed.

Following up on test resultsWhen tests are requested for you, results will be reviewed by Doctor as soon as availability and time permits. These results, once checked by Dr Pauley, can be passed on to you by reception staff by phoning the surgery during hours. Further result findings or action to be taken should be done via consultation. Please ensure you phone the surgery for all test results, however, if urgent action is needed you will be contacted by reception staff to arrange an appointment time to see Doctor.
